STMI provides a large variety of the reef aquarium live-stock today with over 20 years of experience within the industry. STMI holds a quarantining and wholesale facility in Copenhagen, Denmark. STMI has a wide-ranging network of selected suppliers (many of them have been visited by STMI) from the places where marine fish are collected.

The less time the animals are transported, the less time they are stressed therefore STMI’s shipment partner is a global company with a unique focus on animal transpor-tation and safety. The aim is the sooner the animals are in STMI's holding tanks, the sooner they can be observed, fed, and if necessary treated.

The systems of STMI are specialised in treating and keeping the animals healthy. The tanks are not connected to each other directly. The drainage from the single tank goes into a professional filtration and a sterilisation system which then returns clean, oxygenated water back into the tanks. One of the many advantages of this system is that if a particular fish arrives with a parasite or pathogen, the disease cannot spread to any of the other tanks. In other words, each STMI tank is a professional quarantine tank with the correct biological water parameters and filtration.

Naturally, all marine life receives the best possible care in accordance with the specificity of the individual species during the entire time they remain at STMI.
